After six years of preparation and two years of construction, guided and supported by the Civil Aviation Administration of China and local departments at all levels, the constructors overcame all sorts of difficulties, forged ahead against all odds, and promptly resumed work and production. The project passed the industrial inspection and the pre-licensing inspection, and ushered in the maiden flight today with outstanding results and a new look, to deliver an airport with the shortest construction period, the highest qualification rate, the highest safety and the highest degree of intelligentization among similar civil aviation projects in central and southern China, demonstrating the spirit of contemporary civil aviation by action and the strength of contemporary civil aviation by practical results.
